Hi, I’m Megan — a trauma therapist and EMDR specialist serving women across Virginia.
I hold a Master of Social Work from Boston College and a Bachelor’s in Sociology with a minor in Spanish from Roanoke College. Over the years, I’ve pursued extensive training in trauma-focused therapy, including Trauma-Focused CBT, Perinatal Mental Health, Seeking Safety, Alternatives for Families CBT, Play Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I’m also trained in EMDR, with a special focus on helping women heal from relational trauma, anxiety, and perfectionism.
My background includes experience in private practice, primary care, and community mental health. At Carilion Clinic, I provided therapy and case management, led trauma-informed DBT groups, and coordinated care for pregnant women navigating addiction — all of which shaped my passion for helping women heal and thrive.
Today, I specialize in providing both traditional individual therapy and EMDR intensives for high-achieving women who are ready to break free from people-pleasing and perfectionism and live more authentic, fulfilling lives. Whether you’re looking for weekly therapy or want to make faster progress through an intensive, I’m here to help you get to the root of what’s holding you back and create meaningful, lasting change.
If you’re curious about EMDR or wondering whether trauma therapy is right for you, I’d love to connect.
I specialize in helping women of all ages heal from past traumas that are keeping them stuck and preventing them from living the life they truly want. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I’m committed to creating a therapy experience that’s tailored to your needs and goals. Together, we’ll explore the past experiences that have shaped your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors — and work to challenge the negative core beliefs that no longer serve you. Along the way, we’ll also tap into your resilience and strengths.
Emotional safety is always my top priority. I show up as my authentic self so you can feel safe doing the same — and I’m genuinely invested in the women I work with.
I believe EMDR therapy is one of the most effective tools for helping women heal from trauma, anxiety, perfectionism, and people-pleasing. Whether you’re looking for traditional weekly therapy or an EMDR intensive to fast-track your healing, I’m here to help you make meaningful, lasting change. EMDR intensives offer a powerful way to break free from the week-to-week cycle of therapy and accelerate your progress.
Saying yes to an EMDR intensive or trauma therapy is a brave and worthy step. You don’t have to keep carrying the weight of the past — let’s work together to help you move toward the life you want and deserve.
